Puppy Fostering

Louis is my third foster puppy for AADI. I love fostering the puppies and it is a very worthwhile and rewarding thing to do. The puppies live in the house as part of our family. I normally have the pups for about six months and during that time I socialize them with new people, animals, enviorments and experiences ready for their future work as an assistance dog. I also do basic training with the puppies, such as walking on a loose lead, reliable recall, settling in coffee shops, housebreaking and so on. The puppies wear jackets and are allowed in public places that dogs can't normally go (shops, cinemas etc). It is heartbreaking when they go, but for me it's worth it - without a doubt!
